	PALOMITA Family Sanctuary Papillon Mix.  Date of birth: c. 1987 Arriving date: July 16th 2004 Health: currently treated for cancer. Quality of life: good, no pain.

She was found in 2003 in a forest near the city of Mataró (Barcelona, Spain), ill, with mange, no hair and down to skin and bones, and taken to city City Dog-Pound, CAAD, then managed by Altarriba Foundation.

She recovered there, living in the office with her own basket, under the table and by the radiator. Everybody said "Hello" and cookies were always available. But she was so old and needed a home. It's so sad to die in a dog-pound after so many years of loyalty and fidelity towards humans, payed back with a shameful abandonment in the wild.

We are sure the owner was an old woman who died, and heirs had no time to take care of the beloved pet -for properties, money, ... they had, of course.

A new own family, with special cares, would make her to recover her life and the same bright hopeful eyes she had when rescued in the forest and taken to the new basket in CAAD in September 2003.

Altarriba offered her that own cushion to lie down, by the fire-place, and a new life with many other animals to play with.

Palomita is very old, but still likes to go for a walk outside the house, to sunbathe, to smell the grass and, why not, to run towards the kitchen when lunch is ready...
