 |
| In May 2009, Spanish scientist Dr. Marta Saloņa joins Altarriba Foundation's Board of Honour |
Dr. Saloņa, who lives in Bilbao (Basque Country), is Full Profesor for Zoology in the Department of Zoology and Cellular Dynamics at the University of the Basque Country (UPV-EHU), and also coordinates Doctoral Courses in Laboratory Animals: Laws and Ethics and Environmental Ethics. She is member of the "European Association of Global Bioethics", and was selected at international level for the I International Seminar on Bioethics (Lisbon), organized by the universities of Iowa and Lisbon.
As forensic entomologist, she is one of the most brilliant experts and not only at national level; she has been recently interviewed by TV3 regarding this specific field of work (http://www.tv3.cat/videos/1178519).
Dr. Saloņa has collaborated with us several times, and whenever we asked for, as in I CIPLAE, with the paper: Introduction to Bioethics applied to experiments with animals in Life Sciences, or during the I International Forum for Animals, chairing a round table on vivisection with Dr. Katy Taylor (BUAV), Dr. Marc Bekoff, Dr. Antoine F. Goetschel and Kepa Tamales (ATEA).
As a scientist, develops an extraordinary work to replace animals in experimentation and to promote alternative methods, taking this issue to her lecture room and to the different forums in which she participates.
